Car manufactury collection list
#1
Hey guys,

OK, I know this is again a list thread lol but I think this one is really interesting, because almost everybody here is a car enthusiast. In this list I want to collect as many car brands of the world as possible with this great community. Let's hope we'll collect every car brand in the world :p I don't think this here is a game, because we're just collecting Big Grin

I sorted the car brands from continent and state. America has two parts.

Before start reading, please read this first:

- Please report any mistakes here
- If one or some brands are missing, please reply
- Moderators and Admins are allowed to edit the list without asking me for permission
- If you want, answer the two questions at the bottom of thread

- I'm not sure if we should add more car brand divisions, what do you think about them ?
- And, do you think it's good to add here "dead" brands ?

Well, I don't mind dead brands, I just think for more clearness they should be marked with "-+" or something.
I have a car encyclopaedia at home. But that's a real thick book, would take me days to go through, sorry.

I don't have a problem with dead brands either.  I do think however that the list should be name, country, and whatever symbol chosen for dead brands.  This would eliminate duplicates, how many countries have vw's or fords?  It would also be easier to check to see if something is listed instead of guessing at country and seeing if it is listed.
missing off the top of my head:
Buick
Auburn
Cord
Bugatti
Austin Healey
DeSoto
Deloreon
Yugo
Talbot-Lago
Triumph
Tucker
Stanley
Studebaker
Shelby
Smart
Delahaye

Great Brittain has Vauxhall (British form of Opel), had or has Morris, had Jensen (Birmingham), Gordon (one type the Keeble, only 104 were build in 1960, still 90 are left and 60 are still being used on regular bases), Daimler

The US had Sunbeam

France had SIMCA, not sure if its dead or not. Facel Vega, its dead.

Germany had NSU, its dead for sure.

Japan had Datsun, but its now called Nissan, so not sure wether it should be named as Datsun.

Itali has Alfa Romeo and its alive and kicking.
